The Founders' Story
The Mission
To end the “Digital Dust” epidemic. Millions of hours of adventure footage sit on hard drives because editing is too hard. GetHighlights ends the SD purgatory with usable content that your friends and family will actually enjoy watching.
The Origin
Founded by a team that loves the ocean. We both experienced the Galápagos recently with action cameras to capture the beauty, but were frustrated with the time it takes to refine footage. Mike Tetlow (product & engineering) and Mike Davis (sales & customer service) worked together for 4 years at a B2B software company before the owners sold the business. Rather than just do another app that saves corporate employees a couple hours a day, we chose turtles, happiness, and… stuff.

Sure!
Do I need to be a pro editor?+
No. Our AI handles the scrubbing, clipping, and subject detection for landscape to portrait cropping. You just choose your favorite reel and export. If you are a pro editor using DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Premiere, we help you pre-scan footage so you spend less time on the timeline.
Does it work with 4K footage?+
Yes, we support high-resolution exports optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts -- all the way up to 4K. This works equally well whether you're recording scuba dives, snorkeling sessions, or freediving runs.
How does the Affiliate program work?+

What cameras are supported?+
We support footage from GoPro, DJI, and most other action cameras. If it shoots video, we can likely work with it -- even at depth. 360 camera support coming soon.
How are you different from OpusClip, NexusClip, GoPro Quik, etc?+
GetHighlights is focused on underwater photography. The other apps lack optimization for the challenges underwater filming adds and don't even try to identify fish or coral.
What features are you considering in the future?+
We have some ideas like exporting directly to DaVinci Resolve and creating a life list for tracking what marine life you have found and overlaying it with location data from all of our users.
