The Founders' Story
The Mission
Millions of hours of adventure footage sit on hard drives, never watched, because editing is too time-consuming. GetHighlights turns that unused footage into shareable highlights your friends and family will actually want to see.
The Origin
Built by two people who love the ocean. After a trip to the Galápagos with action cameras, we came home with hours of footage we never got around to editing. Mike Tetlow (product and engineering) and Mike Davis (sales and customer experience) had worked together for four years at a B2B software company before deciding to build something they actually cared about. We chose turtles.
The Promise

The Future

Can I see a demo?+
Sure!
Do I need to be a pro editor?+
Not at all. The AI handles everything — scanning, clipping, and color correction. You simply pick your favorite reel and export. If you do edit professionally in DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Premiere, GetHighlights helps you pre-scan footage so you spend far less time on the timeline.
Does it work with 4K footage?+
Yes. We support high-resolution exports optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, all the way up to 4K. It works equally well whether you're recording scuba dives, snorkeling sessions, or freediving runs.
How does the Affiliate program work?+

What cameras are supported?+
We support footage from GoPro, DJI, and most other action cameras. If it shoots video, we can likely work with it at any depth. Insta360 support is coming soon.
Does GetHighlights do color correction?+
Yes! We released an initial version of underwater color correction and are actively improving it with every update. Underwater footage loses color quickly with depth — reds disappear first, followed by oranges and yellows. Our AI works to restore those lost wavelengths and make your footage look closer to what you actually saw. We consider this an evolving feature, and the results will continue to get better over time.
How are you different from OpusClip, NexusClip, or GoPro Quik?+
GetHighlights is built specifically for underwater footage. Other apps are designed for general content and have no understanding of the challenges that come with filming beneath the surface. None of them attempt to identify fish, coral, or other marine life.
What features are you considering in the future?+
We have some ideas like exporting directly to DaVinci Resolve and creating a life list for tracking what marine life you have found and overlaying it with location data from all of our users. But our best ideas have always and will always come from users like you. So if you have an idea, please don't be shy and submit it!
